Granite headstones, tombstones or vertical monuments installed at all cemeteries may need inscription, dates or added words of endearment inscribed on the existing headstone. As family members pass on you may want to add on some special words or even a porcelain inlaid photograph to the monument or on a granite bench at the gravesite. All of this is possible by contacting American Headstones Company for we have portable capabilities to do on site engraving. The granite marker does not have to be removed saving the family a removal and reinstallation fee from the cemetery. We generate the stencil for sandblasting based on your requirement. We can do all of this via the internet or e-mail. We send a drawing for your approval once we visit the granite marker to inspect the condition. Upon approval of the drawing we then plan a visit to the site with our state of the art sandblasting equipment and engrave your headstone. We paint a matching litho chrome ink to match as close as possible the existing ink on the stone. We have the ability to match your existing font and spacing 99% of the time. There may be some fonts that we do not carry but matching closely to the existing is what we try to achieve.
During our visit we can clean and repaint the entire stone to bring it back to almost a new condition. Of course there are some instances that the granite is blistered and pitted due to conditions beyond our control that repainting cannot be done and cleaning is all we can do for the stone. Although rare this condition is from a poor quality of granite and replacing the stone may be your only option.
Engraving on site is common place and unlimited for designs done in standard engraving, the only factor is space available on the granite marker that is being engraved on. Laser work can not be done at the cemetery, only engraving by sandblasting. Sending us a picture of the granite marker so we can evaluate your request is simple and quick.
